01. RESEARCH NOTE [Witness Level 04: ESSENTIAL-SELF]— Alchemical cibatio feeds and nurses the soul-matter to increase its depth and strength. Through this work, the Ground of Being is rendered completely edible, and it actively digests its unconditioned power. This intake of spiritual nourishment serves as necessary strengthening, granting the body physical weight and resilience.

02. THE VISION — A young elephant stands, its trunk reaching out to feed from a colossal mother made of rich, food textures. The small figure draws sweet, life-giving nourishment directly from this ancient presence.

03. THE PARTICULAR SIGNIFICANCE — This process transitions the soul from an observer into a living participant who internalises the divine. As the newborn spirit effortlessly processes the Absolute’s unconditioned love, the infinite becomes a palatable substance that converts celestial food directly into flesh, bone, and neural pathways. By eating True Nature, the abstract light grants physical mass. The newborn consciousness is no longer a fragile visitor in the material world, but a fully fed, heavy, and anchored reality.

The specialised operation of cibatio—the nursing, feeding, and hardening of the soul-matter until it gains physical weight and resilience—can be seen in the lower quadrant of the historical woodcut, where the alchemical Pelican plucks its own breast to feed its young with its own life-blood. This represents the moment where the unconditioned Ground of Being renders itself completely edible to sustain its offspring. This maps onto the young elephant calf drawing sweet, life-giving nourishment from a colossal mother made of rich food textures. Concurrently, the resurrected Rebis is fully clothed in heavy, formal garments, signalling that the volatile spirit has achieved absolute density within the material world.
