The newborn consciousness moves beyond fragile starlight to anchor itself in a solid, heavy physical reality. A baby elephant, drawing sweet nourishment directly from an ancient mother made of lollies, performs a deep alchemical feeding, converting abstract celestial food into literal mass, bone, and neural pathways within the soul-matter.

The specialised operation of cibatio—the nursing, feeding, and hardening of the soul-matter until it gains physical weight and resilience—can be seen in the lower quadrant of the historical woodcut, where the alchemical Pelican plucks its own breast to feed its young with its own life-blood. This represents the moment where the unconditioned Ground of Being renders itself completely edible to sustain its offspring. This maps onto the young elephant calf drawing sweet, life-giving nourishment from a colossal mother made of rich food textures. Concurrently, the resurrected Rebis is fully clothed in heavy, formal garments, signalling that the volatile spirit has achieved absolute density within the material world.
