[CHAKRA SERIES] Overview: Chakras and Subtle Bodies: A Guide to Human Energy Centres

The image shows the seven main chakras, energy centres in the body.
The human body is an interconnected system of energy. Beyond its physical form, there exist additional energetic layers of consciousness, often referred to as subtle bodies or auras. Chakras serve as vital portals that link these layers, regulating the flow of universal life force throughout our being. Each major chakra governs specific aspects of both the physical and energetic bodies. When these energy centres are open and balanced, vitality can circulate freely through the entire human energy system, supporting our mental, emotional, and physical health and well-being.

The seven chakras can also be seen as a model for human development. As we evolve personally, we learn to sustain awareness at progressively higher levels of consciousness. Moving up through each chakra is akin to ascending an octave in vibration, granting us access to more refined and subtle planes of consciousness.

The soul’s journey begins with developing a healthy and resilient ego, achieved through the growth of the three lower chakras: root, sacral, and solar plexus. The heart chakra acts as a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms, marking the start of the spiritual path. The three higher chakras—throat, brow, and crown—progressively deepen our connection to our spiritual essence.
