[CHAKRA SERIES] Brow: Inner Wisdom and Self-Mastery [Stage 2: Albedo]

The brow chakra, or third eye, is located at the centre of the forehead between the eyebrows. It is associated with the colour indigo and governs our intuition and ability to visualise. At the sixth chakra, we learn to open the third eye and keep our connection to intuition consistently active, trusting this higher wisdom over the ego or mind. This state is cultivated through dedicated meditation and spiritual practice. Over time, the stillness and peace experienced in deep meditation or prayer expand to all areas of life, heightening our sensitivity and awareness beyond ordinary perception.

Deep introspection brings us face-to-face with inner fears and shadows, which must be acknowledged to achieve true freedom and raise our vibrational frequency. Self-mastery is cultivated through the discipline of observing these inner patterns and choosing transformation, an evolutionary path that is often overlooked in modern, materialist culture. Indeed, within Western society, few individuals stabilise this sixth chakra as a permanent stage of consciousness, largely because of the systemic, intense focus on the external and material world.

At this level, the celestial body—appearing to clairvoyant perception as a 2-3  foot field of luminous silver, gold, and opalescent light—connects the individual to a profound state of being. This facilitates a fundamentally objective and unconditioned form of universal love, distinct from the warmer emotional spectrum of the heart centre.
